I looked out into centerfield, and the scoreboard caught my eye. Last inning, 2 out, down 9-6. I swing on the first pitch, and hit a groundball to shortstop.
I reluctantly run down to first, knowing I'm the final out of the game, and that my teams season has just been ended in a 9-6 loss.
I walked off the field with my head hung, disappointed and upset.
losing 9-6 wasn't the ideal way to end the seaon of summer baseball, and it left me pretty heartbroken.
On the way home, my dad explained to me that each loss is a learning experience.
You can't win every game. You either win or you get better.
I was much more focused on my mistakes then I was on learning from them.
Maybe if I had gotten a hit, we could've won the game
