  • Exposition
  • "You think you're too good for us, just because you finished high school and have a job in town! My God! We grew up in the country. Our parents and grandparents grew up in the country. If New Mexico country was good enough for them-"
  • Inciting Incident 
  • Rising Action
  • Uncle Luis is mad at Papa for moving into the city. While Papa says it's because he'll be closer to work, the real reason is so Junior can go to an English speaking school in an English speaking country. 
  • Climax
  • "I understand there's a nice movie in town where the boys go Saturday afternoons,"
  • Junior joins a "gang" called Los Indios where he would walk home with his friends and go to movies with them every Saturday. 
  • Falling Action 
  • The Los Indios come face to face one of their enemies, a white boy that goes to public school. They see him multiple times after school when they walk home. They called the scared white boy, John Wayne. One of the days when they were walking home and see John Wayne, they beat him up till he runs away with fear. 
  • Resolution
  • Junior finds out the John Wayne, real name Denver, is his neighbor. Junior is forced by his mother to take Junior to the movies with the Los Indios. 
  • "It would be nice for the boys to go together," 
  • Junior takes Denver to the movies and mee up with Los Indos. Junior lies to Chango and tells him that Denver is an Oklahoman Indian. The boys accept him and watch the movie in peace. 
  • The Los Indios accept Denver into their group and they all become friends. Junior narrates about how he learned a valuable lesson from everything that happened and relates it to older movies of that time period.
