Ch.8 Character vs Character
Ch.1 Character vs Character
"I drove the broken horn straight into his side, right up under his furry rib cage" (pg. 55). Percy battled and defeated the minotaur.
Ch.8 Character vs Self
"Cream the punk! Clarisse screamed" (pg. 20). Clarisse and others were going to attack Percy.
Ch.3 Character vs Character
"Mrs. Dodds lunged at me. With a yelp, I dodged and felt talons slash the air next to my ear. She snarled, Die, honey! And she flew straight at me" (pg. 13). Mrs. Dodds had a bad relationship with Percy because she wanted to kill Percy.
Ch.8 Character vs Nature
"The only thing I really excelled at was canoeing, and that wasn't the kind of heroic skill people expected to see from the kid who had beaten the Minotaur" (pg.108). Out of all of the activities at Camp Half-Blood, canoeing was the only thing he was good at.
"Hardly looking up, he said around his cigar, So you're home. Where's my mom? Working, he said. You got any cash" (pg. 31). Clearly Gabe and Percy don't have a good relationship. Gabe should've at least of said, good to see you.
"She tried to step in front of me, but the hound was too fast. It leaped over her-an enormous shadow with teeth-and just as it hit me, as I stumbled backward and felt its razor-sharp claws ripping through my armor, there was a cascade of thwacking sounds, like forty pieces of paper being ripped one after the other" (pg. 124-125). The black hound from the forest was attacking Percy.
