Storyboard Text

  • Hey Billy. How was school?
  • Hi mom.
  • Hmm... why don't we go over to the living room to discuss this?
  • Hi mom. It was good. I actually had a question for you. What are STDs?
  • Okayyy...
  • Oh no, it's the talk!
  • Well Billy, when you grow older, you will find someone you love and you two will practice safe sex.
  • Ok, but what are those?
  • But, you have to be careful of STIs (sexually transmitted infections) and STDs (sexually transmitted diseases).
  • Those aren't permanent, are they?
  • STIs happen when bacteria or viruses are transmitted through sexual contact and result in an infection.
  • No, they're not. Often times, they result in symptoms that are not easily recognized.
  • What kinds of STDs are there?
  • STDs, on the other hand, are permanent and can result in damage to your organs and senses.
  • Well, diseases like herpes and hepatitis B can result from skin to skin contact, such as sharing a razor or kissing.
