In the bathroom, Cass looked at herself in the mirror.
The next day, Cass went back to school.
The girls tried to make fun of her again.
You're still wearing THAT?
What are you still doing here?
Why do you embarrass yourself by looking like that?
I look and feel amazing. You must be pretty dumb not to see that.
Staring at her reflection, she wondered what those girls saw. Squaring her shoulders and making a decision, she decided that from that day on, she was beautiful in her own eyes, no matter what people thought. She was her own beholder.
She walked into class, feeling more happy and confident than she had in days. She had a wide smile on.
The girls were dumbfounded. Cass wasn't the slightest bit affected by them. Her journey had come to an end. She realised her inner beauty, and hoped the girls someday would too.
