  • The king is forced to hire a new finance minister, Jaques Necker, who is extremely popular with the citizens because he believes the government is responsible to provide for the people.
  • In May of 1789, Maximilien Robespierre spoke for the 3rd estate. He claimed and that the clergy and nobility to also pay taxes. King Louis XVI closed the doors on them, so people started meeting on a tennis court and wouldn't stop until there is a new constitution.
  • The Bastille, which was a massive stone dungeon of gun powder, and was torn down piece by piece. The Declaration of the Right of Man was passed after.
