wow, today is a perfect day to practice physics in the real world!
Today i'm going to find the distance my cat travels as I throw it off this building. Good thing cats always land on their feet!
To properly calculate the distance my cat will travel i must use two of five kinematic equations, d=v1t+1/2at2 or the equation dd = ((vi + vf)/2)*t
the velocity (v1) if my cat is 0 because he started at rest. Thanks to the gravity on earth the acceleration of the fall is 9.8m/s2. Using my timer i timed the fall at 5.06s
Now to fill it all in! d=0(5.06)+0.5(9.8)(5.06)2..... d=125.45m
Yay! it worked, you landed on your feet! Now are you ready for my new experiment, using V2 = V1+at to find your velocity?
