In 1948 the Apartheid controlled South Africa. The national party were having laws about restriction on non-white Africans and they made it an act that was called Population Registration Act of 1950 . Africa decided that there were only 4 races and that is how they got divided.
Africans started to complain when law restricted that non- white people could not go to school, restaurant or do the same job or get married with white people.
Nelson Mandela was the leader of the ANC, he was protesting and the cops arrested him because they didn't agree with what he was doing with the protesting.
