  • Now that we are married we have to learn to adapt to each others cultures. 
  • Acculturation;  When two cultures adapt to each others world view.
  • Isn't that called Acculturation?
  • Americanization;  The worry that all cultures will be like America.
  • I was thinking about what we learned in school today, and how we are in the same situation.
  • McDonald's
  • Ya because we are eating at McDonald's right now but we are in Germany.
  • Accommodation; When two people from different cultures make space for each others beliefs. 
  • I am happy that the government a day for gay pride!
  • Ya me too. They deserve it after everything they have been through.
  • Assimilation; When a minority culture is absorbed into the dominant culture.
  • we learned about Assimilation and how the minority cultures get absorbed into the dominant culture, for example when the first nations were put into the residential schools.

  • Hey, I wasn't at school today can you tell me what we learned in social class?
  • Marginalization; Putting a group in a lower or powerless position in society. 
  • I was very interterested in the topic Marginalization.
  • Yes me too especially because a good example of Marginalization is when the first nations were out on reserves and that affected my ancestors. 
  • Hybridization; Combining elements of different cultures, often to create a new product.
  • I love the show sesame street
  • Me too I had that show back home but they made it a little bit different so that it would adjust to my country
