I'm sorry, but your son got caught in machinery. Maw and Meggins is willing to give you two hundred pounds for his service.
The White family are in their living room one evening in the late 1800s in Europe waiting for Sergeant Major Morris. When he arrived, Mr. White introduces him and Sergeant Major tells them of his adventures.
Let me go! It's our son Herbert! Don't you want to see your son?
Sergeant Morris tells them about a magical monkey's paw after Mr. White begged him to tell him. After Sgt. Morris through the monkey's paw into the fire, Mr. White pulls it out and says he will take it.
Come help me unlock the door!
When the White family make their first wish, for 200 pounds, nothing happens and they go to sleep. The next morning, a little after Herbert goes to work, a stranger is lurching by the gate. Mrs. White lets him in and the man tells them that Herbert had died. One night Mr. White gets up, he hears Mrs. White crying. He goes back to bed until he hears his wife scream about the monkey's paw and tells him to wish Herbert back. He does, but again nothing happens and they go back to bed.
When Mr. White goes down stair, he hears a knock at the door and then hears another one and runs upstairs and shuts the door behind him. Mrs. White ask what it is and then hears another knock and screams that's it Herbert. Mrs. White tries to run down the stair, but Mr. White catches her and holds her back. She breaks free and runs down the stairs.
When Mrs. White gets down stairs, she starts unlocking the door but can't reach the bolt on the top. She tells Mr. White to help her, but he is to busy trying to find the monkey's paw. Mrs. White gets a chair while Mr. White makes his final wish. Mrs. White gets the door open and a breeze sweeps through the house and no one is at the door.
Mrs. White runs out to the gate and Mr. White joins her. A street light on the other side of the road flickers.
