This is a Red Fox, They have lived in America for many many years and they don"t plan on leaving. They have been living here for 400,000 years and they have always changing with the environment.
As a red fox i will often have 8- 14 offspring, with this many kids it is possible to maximize the likely hood of having at least one of my offspring surviving to adulthood. This is called overpopulation, offspring off a red fox are very likely to die at a young age so foxes must have many more children in order to keep the species alive.
No fox is born the same. They all have adaptations just like shown in the picture. The close fox is red and he is unable to blend into the environment, resulting in his death due to starvation. Now the closer fox has more food and is now able to reproduce much more.
It's now 1492, and it is the first time the American Red fox has ever had to face humans in massive amounts. The spices as a whole had to adapt very quickly in order to not die off. lucky for the foxes humans brought chickens, the only problem was. Farmers hated losing their livestock and would kill the foxes that where easy to see. This was unlucky for the vast majority of foxes, but for the brown foxes it was a blessing.
Humans are now taking over and the red fox is losing its hunting grounds very fast. This is killing off hundreds of the red foxes, and it is happening way to fast for them to adapt to their current situation. Humans are forcing foxes to live in large groups so diseases rampant like: mange, distemper, and rabies.
In our current day and age Red foxes population is still decreasing rapidly, so it is up to humans to help them adapted to the environment we have created. We are currently doing this by making more parks and making current park bigger. Our efforts are working well and we are seeing the population of Red foxes increase.
