Kelly, you better hold on to your purse. You know what they do.
IMMIGRANTS ARE STEALING OUR JOBS! BUILD THAT WALL ASAP!!!!!
Why? I am a paying customer.
Please leave. You're making other guests uncomfortable
I'm Iyanna, I live in California. The sunshine state, all is great... except for the ignorance. Stereotypes and racial profiling are common nowadays and that's a disgusting way to live.
So ladies, the two of you just don't fit the look of our company.
In the world we live in today when I open up social media and/or check the news, I see articles and stories similar to this.
Guys, I've gathered you all here today to have a serious conversation. I have to apologize. We've all been victims of racial discrimination in these past few days. And I sat idly by not saying anything. That was wrong. If you see something happening that you know is not right, SAY SOMETHING. And that is what I should've done for you all.
"Mommy why does that lady have that on her head," the boy asked his mother. "Honey don't stare, her people tend to bomb things when they feel disrespected."
Iyanna it's okay. If they aren't willing to accept our differences we don't need them.
Although there are many laws in place to help decline work-place discrimination, it still shows itself within the hiring process, firing process, and overall pay.
Being a bystander is just as bad if not worse than being a bully. People who make negative comments or assumptions about people due to their physical characteristics or race are bullies. It might be uncomfortable or scary, but standing up for someone in need is never a bad thing.
Friends come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Just because we all may look different we are all human. No one deserves to be disrespected for being unique. Make a friend, speak up.
