  • He stalks the old man at midnight and drops the lantern and then the old man wakes up. Then the narrator hides and is silent. The narrator does not want to be seen.
  • Claim: When the narrator drops the lantern and the old man wakes up, why does he not want to be seen or heard? Evidence: "I moved it slowly- very, very slowly, so that I may not disturb the old man's sleep."
  • YES!!!!!!
  • The maniac killer kills the old man with a bed, then chops him up. Next the cops come to investigate and the killer admits that he killed the old man.
  • Claim: The narrator said he loves the old man, but ends up killing him because his eye. Why or what happened to make the narrator hate his eye. Evidence: " I loved the old man." " He had never wronged me." ... " I think it was his eye."
  • They are taking the killer to jail for his mistake to serve life in jail. He is happy the old man is dead because of his evil eye, but is not happy he is going to jail.
  • claim: The narrator admits what he did, but why did he. The narrator should give a few more details about why. Was it guilt or stress? Evidence: I admit the deed! -tear up the planks- here, here!
