  • Mountains
  • The French fought the British with the help of the Natives. They were fighting for the land in the Ohio River Valley. The British ended up winning the war.
  • The Proclamation of 1763 set a rule that colonists could not settle west of the Appalachian Mountains.
  • The Quartering Act required the colonists provide food and shelter for the British soldiers. This made the colonists outraged.
  • The colonists were rioting and throwing rocks at the British soldiers. This led to the soldiers firing on the crowd.
  • A group called The Sons of Liberty organized a protest known as the Boston Tea Party. Some disguised themselves as natives while they threw tea into the harbor.
  • Delegates from each colony met in Philadelphia to discuss taxes, boycotts, and the idea of revolution.
