  • I never hear about the proteins in our body. What are some of them?
  • Well three big ones are hemoglobin, immunoglobulin, and collagen.
  • What's hemoglobin?
  • It's a red protein responsible for transporting oxygen in the blood of vertebrates.
  • That's really interesting!
  • Don't forget immunoglobulin, though!
  • What is it?
  • An immunoglobulin, is a protein produced mainly by plasma cells that is used to neutralize pathogens.
  • That's crazy! the last one was collagen, right?
  • Yeah, collagen is the main structural protein found in skin and other connective tissues.
  • I know so much about proteins now! Thank you!
  • Of course. I always love to teach.
