  • The first place that I have visited is Tibet-Qinghai Plateau. This plateau is very large and it covers about a fourth of China. Also this is a rocky land that is surrounded by towering mountains. The climate of the plateau is very cold. In addition there is a lot of snow that falls during all the seasons. This plateau has vegetation that consists of sparse shrubs and grasses.

  • The second place that I have visited is The Taklimakan Desert. This desert is one of the most dangerous deserts in the world. Its name means "once you go in, you will not come out." There are also many sand dunes that occur. This desert is very dry which makes it hard to grow vegetation. But the only vegetation is along rivers and near oases.

  • The third place that I have visited is The Gobi Desert. This desert is one of the worlds largest deserts. It covers part of China and present day Mongolia. Also this desert has very few sand dunes.  The surface of this desert has stones, small pebbles and tiny pieces of sand. Vegetation is sparse but there are plants that are widely spread apart.

  • The fourth place that I have visited is The Northeastern Plain. This plain is located in present day Mongolia. The natural vegetation is mostly prairie grass. There is also many different rivers that flow throughout the plain. Also there are short warm summers and long chilly winters.  This weather causes the plain to become dry and cold.

  • The fifth place that I have visited is The North China Plain. This plain is located in inner China. This is a flat region of grassland. The weather can range from very warm in the summer to quite cold in the winter. Also this region is sometimes known as the "land of the yellow earth." because it is covered in yellow limestone silt. Some of the rivers that are in this plain are very muddy. The vegetation is quite good and is a good place to grow crops.

  • The final place that I have visited is The Chang Jiang Basins. These basins are low, wet coastal plains. The rivers that are in the basins are very nice. They help make the soil fertile and moist. This area is very warm and wet. Also the vegetation can have thick rain forests. although the space is very good for planting crops it is not very suitable for grazing animals.
