Storyboard Text

  • NO!!
  • Please sail away from this island!! There is no escaping this enchantress' grasp.
  • The evil enchantress flies after them with a long stick. She shuts them in a pigsty, tossing acorns, mast, and cornel berries. The men's minds remained the same but their bodies became pink and wrinkly like a newborn babies' skin.
  • Make the goddess swear not to play any "witches' tricks".
  • Eurylochus, watching the scene unfold, runs to the ship where Odysseus and handful of men are. Blinding tears welled in his eyes and foreboding lay in his heart.
  • I'll turn the pigs back into men!!
  • Eurylochus tells Odysseus what has happened and begs him to sail from Circe's island. Against this advice, Odysseus rushes to save his men from the evil enchantresses' grasp.
  • Alright, but you must first visit the Land of the Dead and hear a prophecy from the ghost of Tiresias.
  • It's been one year, please let us go home!!
  • On the way, he meets the god Hermes who gives him a magical plant called moly to protect Odysseus from Circe's power. Hermes also warns him to make the goddess swear not to play any "witches' tricks".
  • Circe gives Odysseus the magical drink but it doesn't affect him and he threatens to kill her with his sword. She turns the pigs back into men but puts them in a trance.
  • They stay for one year, and Odysseus begs the "loveliest goddess" to let them go home. She replies that they must visit the land of the dead first and hear a prophecy from the ghost of Tiresias.
