Storyboard Text

  • Jack and Jill went camping for their weekend to celebrate graduating geometry class
  • After 2 days of camping, they decide to head back to the city
  • Yeah sure, I'm down to go.
  • Aight, lets go back home.
  • We can get a log long enough to get us across, but how long is the river?
  • How do we get across?
  • They get lost heading back to the city and have to cross a river to get to the main road
  • Oh yeah, We can use trigonometry to calculate it!
  • We can use the tree on the other side to calculate how long the river is
  • The angle from the tree to the ground looks like 28 degrees, and from the treetop to here is about 25 feet. If we calculate 25cos28=y, and y is the length of the river, the river is 22 feet long
  • 28 degrees
  • 25 ft
  • Thank god for trigonometry!
