Storyboard Text

  • The American Dream means that if I work hard, I can provide my family with good opportunities and a good life.
  • I never loved Tom!
  • Oh no, Gatsby is dead and he has no friends to mourn him. He made all his money illegally and he died without achieving his dream of Daisy.
  • The people I interviewed said that the American Dream means that through hard work, one can provide their family with a good life and a good future.
  • Gatsby's idealized American Dream was that if he waited long enough and worked hard enough for Daisy, he would eventually achieve his goal of being with Daisy.
  • Gatsby's corrupt American Dream is that he died without achieving his goal of being with Daisy. Also, he didn't achieve his money honestly (through hard work) - he cheated and engaged in illegal activities.
