  • George and Lennie meet the boss of the ranch. The boss was confused on why George did all the talking and didn't let Lennie say anything. • "look down across the river"
  • Lennie wanted to hold and pet a new puppy but George wanted him to put it back because Lennie has a history of killing things. This scene foreshadows that Lennie won't listen to George and will pet someone/something to hard. This shows that having innocence isn't always a good thing.
  • Lennie pets Curley's wife's hair because she told him it was soft.He then wouldn't let go of her hair and ended up breaking her neck. This would be considered a climax because it shows that Lennie messes up again and that his dream with George won't work. This scene proves that temptation can lead to bad things for everyone not just one person.
  • George met Lennie at the river where he continued to tell him about their dream. While talking about the dream George had Lennie look at the river while he shot him. Noe that George doesn't have Lennie their dream together can't happen. The conclusion of this novel shows the reader that plans don't always work out cause how much life changes.
