There once was a young cat who adored a swan. He was captivated by her grace, and she was amazed at his masculinity.
Awh look, how cute!
Every day without, the two lovers met up at the river. There, they continued their cross-species romance.
One day, it rained, and so the lovers could not meet. The young cat looked out the window of his home, eyes misting. His mind was so consumed of thoughts of his lover that he willed himself to fall asleep, hoping that he would dream of her.
Suddenly, there was a loud knock that vibrated throughout his dreams. The cat's eyes popped open. He cast his blue eyes around the darkened room only to see that his friend, a green sparrow, was tapping on his window.
The sparrow looked frazzled. His feathers were soaking wet, and his claws were a muddy brown.
"Though being woken from my sleep makes me want to unsheath my claws, it isn't my way to condemn a friend without knowing his reasons. Tell me, what ails you?"
Out of the sparrow's beak came a most sordid tale. The young cat's lover was in trouble!
"My friend, I have seen it! A monstrous hunter has stolen your swan lover! He intends to eat her!"
