  • i have no money and you know it, but we still have to eat.
  • well my love! i have no money either and you know that too!
  • Im not so sure this is a good idea...who are you even?
  • Im someone who wants to make a deal with you, thats all you have to know
  • Well you are such a chicken, ill look for the treasures myself
  • This story begins in an old house near the Hudson river, where a man, by the name of Tom Walker, and his wife, discussed as usually about the fake poverty they were living in. But with pitty hearts and both filled with lies, they hid from each others their treasures, so none of them had to share with the other any of their own riches.
  • Oh my sweet child, you made the right choice
  • One afternoon, as the sun went down and the night was falling, Tom Walker, coming from work, decided to took a shortcut by the swamp, and with the howling of the wind that cooled the trees, came the devil, that standing in front of the young man, offered him the ancient treasures hid on those lands by a young pirate centuries ago.
  • You miserable man! May the devil take me anything you say its true.
  • scared to death but curious about the strangers offer, the man got home to his wife, who saw the fear on her husbands eyes and decided to look for the treasures herself, and ignoring the coward calls of her husband, disappeared in the night to never be seen again.
  • As the days passed by, Tom Walker realized his wife was death, and proved it when he found her heart and liver in the dirt on the swamp, where he decided to accept the devils offer, and took the ancient treasures to open his own lending money office, where he became one of the wealthiest men in town, by stealing money and good from other people.
  • filled with the fear of knowing everything he had was act of the devil, old Tom Walker became a church rat, saying loud prayers everyday, but never stopped his little business. One day, a poor man came to him asking for money, wich Tom Walker refused to give and took everything the poor man had, and as the man refused to Tom Walker telling him all his truths, the old business man claimed the devil to take him if that was true.
  • The devil, who listened the kind offer of Tom Walker, visited the old man looking for his promised soul, and taking the old man with him for eternity to the claws of hell, and disappearing from earth every hint of the treasures the man used to have. And so is the story of the devil and Tom Walker, the man who traded his life and soul for the goods in the short life we all have in this world.
