In this image, the people in the audience are anxious. This is because they believe that Chief Elder has made a mistake, and skipped over Jonas.
Everyone Else's View
In this picture, Chief Elder acknowledges that she has skipped over Jonas. She explains to the crowd why she did what she did, and calls Jonas up to the stage, and starts explaining his new assignment.
Chief Elder, is now explaining to the crowd, and Jonas, why Jonas has been selected, and not assigned. This is because of his intelligence, integrity, courage, wisdom, and the capacity to see beyond.
At first, Jonas believes that this job is not for him. He doesn't even know what "the capacity to see beyond," even means. Just as he gets ready to speak up, he see's the crowd change, for just a split second, but it still changes.
Jonas is finally happy with his selection, and feels accomplished a proud. He is now thanked for his childhood, and asked to leave the stage.
As Jonas is making his way back to his seat, he hears his name. It repeats, and gets louder, with every step. Then, he realizes that the crowd is chanting his name, and everyone is cheering for him!
