“May I hope, then, that you will give this matter higher priority from now on? There will be little point in our meeting after tonight unless we have that memory.”
Ginny and dean got into a fight and may breakup. Harry wants to know all about it. Lavender and Ron have also been fighting alot of it because of how much time Ron spends with Hermione.
"Oh, if my family knew I was showing you. . . . They can’t wait to get their hands on this!”
Harry forgot to meet with Dumbledore so he rushed to his office. When he got there he told Dumbledore that he wasn't able to get the memory he needed from professor slughorn. Dumbledore wasn't angry which sort of made Harry feel even worse about not being able to get the memory. He learns that to continue with the meeting they have, he has to get the memory
“They do not call me ‘Tom’ anymore,”
The first memory that Harry saw was one about Tom Riddle and how he did very well in school and everyone thought there would be great things in his future. Although, he chose to work at Borgin and Burkes. His job is to go around to different witches and witches and convince them to sell their most prised possession to Borgin and Burkes.
Dumbledore shows Harry a memory when Voldemort visited a woman named Hepzibah. She showed him the golden Hufflepuff cup and the Slytherin locket. Two days later she was found dead and her house elf Hokey was blamed. Dumbledore said that this is the first time Voldemort killed for gain instead of revenge.
In Dumbledore's second memory they are in his office again with Voldemort who is trying to get the defense against the dark arts teaching job again. Dumbledore learns that Tom doesn't really want the teaching job he just wants to influence young wizards and be near the knowledge that Hogwarts holds.
