  • Meanwhile with the land owner...
  • Hmm.. I don't know how I feel about my land being used for a Sundance ceremony anymore... I think I would find better use of it with my cattle!
  • The landowner, Lyle James, then told the Ts'peten they had to leave. However, the Ts'peten refused and said it was their land.
  • You people need to leave! You are being EVICTED!
  • You can't make us leave, this land is ours!! Its tradition!!
  • After the threats from Lyle James didn't work, the government of British Columbia sent in around 450 RCMP officers to stop the fight over the land.
  • They won't get off my land!
  • Calm down Mr. James, we're on it.
  • The RCMP officers and the Ts'peten then had a standoff for many days. They decided to make the pathway to get water a safe zone where no-one could be attacked.
  • You guys need to leave now!
  • We are never leaving! We will stand here forever!
  • August 18
  • The RCMP put explosives under neath the path to the way the Ts'peten got water from.
  • This standoff is not working! We need to get them out!
  • Yes! In the land we said would be a no attack zone! They won't expect that!
  • How about we put explosives somewhere?
