Lesley smokes a pack of cigarettes a day. that is about 20 cigarettes.
Chemicals released from cigarettes can also cause coronary heart disease, ear infections and lung complications.
Lesley had a doctors appointment and found out that smoking not only affects her, but others around her too.
Her doctor also told her 1.2 million non-smokers died from second hand smoke every year. This means not only Lesley's health is in danger, but her baby's is too.
Second hand smoke is thought to be linked to sudden infant death syndrome, so her baby could die because of the 7000 chemicals released by a cigarette.
So not only was she hurting herself, she was hurting her child and everyone around her too.
Lesley quit to help herself and everyone around her. Now she doesn't smoke, meaning she is healthier than before, and is not as much at risk at developing smoking-related diseases. Her baby is also safe from contracting smoking-related diseases
