Storyboard Text

  • This is Sarah Ramsey checking out some breaking news.  I have John Doe with me here, and we are going to see if this story pans out as truth or fake news.
  • Where did you hear this news?  Can you tell me a little about that organization?
  • On the NPR website. NPR is a privately and publicly funded radio and website based in Washington, DC.
  • What do you think the purpose of the article was? Do you think it was biased?
  • To inform people about what's happening at the border. It may be biased because it was very critical of President Trump, but I also checked what they said and CNN and NBC both posted similar facts.
  • Are there facts and quotes that back up the story?
  • Most of the quotes in the story are from other NPR reporters, TV reporters, and quotes from other news outlets. Other quotes are listed from spokespeople. I couldn't find direct quotes from reliable sources.
  • Have you seen other things that they've published that can be backed up by fact? Have you checked other sources to see if they are reporting the same things?
  • As I said, other news organizations posted similar facts.
  • There you have it folks!  This story was not fake news. Other sources confirmed the facts.
  • Since my other sources were reliable, I also agree that this was not fake news.
