  • Kate is a student that uses social media on a daily basis and her grades have been affected by it 
  • Students who have positive experiences and a positive social presence have been seen to have increased student motivation. This therefore allows social wellbeing to be a main predictor of students academic performance.
  • Adolescents can be affected negatively by social media due to the onset of depression, anxiety, stress and addiction. Different elements of social media can bring out different reactions from adolescents. 
  • Teenagers may perceive YouTubers as role models,therefore YouTubers can significantly affect teenager’s life decisions, physical appearance and self-esteem. YouTube involves risks as young people can get exposed to inappropriate videos.
  •  Teenager's use of social media need to be monitored as they spend a lot of their time online which can affect them negatively
