The Declaration of Independence
The Second Continental Congress deiced that they weren't going to break away from Britain. Created the Continental Army to defend the colonies and George Washington was put in command. It was a meeting place in Philadelphia to decide how they should react to the fighting at Lexington and Concord.
It was the start of the America Revolution. The British move on to Concord to find the colonists weapons, but failed to do so. As the British retreat the colonist fire upon them earning their first victory.
This document was written declaring the colonists independence from Britain. One of the main ideas of this document were that all men possess unalienable rights. The document was written to protect he rights of the colonists and looked out for the colonists overall best interest.
