Storyboard Text

  • Iron (II) oxide, we're gonna have to jump to prove we can withstand impact.
  • Alright, farewell Iron.
  • Iron (II) Oxide, are you okay?!
  • Well that's gonna leave a mark...
  • I'm too brittle. It's because of my crystal lattice structure. When one point of it hit, the force of impact vibrated throughout and my composition crumbled.
  • huh? It's so hot a chicken can lay an omelet in this weather!
  • I, Iron(ii) oxide, have a higher boiling point so this is no sweat for me! How are you doing down there iron?
  • See, Ionic compounds are more resilient.
  • Hmm, okay. Let's make them into screwdrivers and then consider their hardness.
  • I would have to disagree. Since it takes a lot of energy to melt the ionic compounds, shaping them into tools would be timely and expensive.
  • Now, for our last test. We will check your solubility. Hopefully, none of you are soluble, because we tend to keep tools in dark wet basements.
  • Oh, Brother...
