Storyboard Text

  • Richard Wright grew up where most of the time he was always hungry, he usually ate a crust or two that would fill his hunger but this time it didn't.
  • i haven't eaten in so long, my stomach hurts!
  • His mom was trying to distract him so he would forget that he's hungry. She is only doing this because she doesnt want to tell him that his dad left them with no food.
  • Mama i'm hungry!
  • “Jump up and catch a kungry"
  • His mom got a job and gave money to Wright to go buy groceries from the grocery store.
  • Finally, i feel like a grown up now.
  • Go to the store and get the groceries, don't come back without them !
  • Wright got beat up on the way to the store, they took his money twice and he was scared to go back to the store.
  • Okay okay, just leave me alone.
  • HAHA YOU LOSER, don't come back around our area anymore.
  • His mom sent him back to the store with more money. Now he will find out if he is able to stand up for himself.
  • Mom they beat me up and took my money, please don't make me go back there.
  • “I’m going to teach you this night to stand up and fight for yourself.”
  • Wright went back to the grocery store but this time, with a cane. When the boys tried to jump him, he beat them up. This proves that he is capable of standing up for himself and he should continue to do so.
  • Don't even try to mess with me again!
  • We're sorry, we won't ever bother you again.
