I'm showing the difference between distance and displacement based on my weekend travels.
"Hope you guys are excited." said my stepmom.
"Six Flags here we come!" shouted my dad
"How long will it'll take to get there?" questioned my sister.
"Well first we're going to Dunkin Donuts then to the park." my stepmom explained.
"It'll be quick, 7 minutes till we get there." said my dad.
"I'll be back!" she called out.
My weekend plans included going to Dunkin' Donuts, Six Flags, and then back home.
"It'll take us 1 hour and 5 minutes." replied my dad.

"So when will we get there?" I asked.
The distance from my house to the Dunkin' Donuts that we went to was 1.2 miles away.
"Finally, it's been a while since I've been here." I said.
"We have all day here." said my dad.
Dunkin' Donuts was the first stop on this trip.
"Yes thank you so much!" I replied.
"Hope you guys enjoyed!" my stepmom stated.
The distance from Dunkin' Donuts to Six Flags was 64.5 miles.
We finally arrived there an hour and 5 minutes later.
"Oh I can't wait!" my sister yelled.
"We have season passes too so we can comeback whenever for a year!" exclaimed my stepmom.
Once it was 9pm it was time to head back home. From Six Flags to my house, it was 68.4 miles. At the end of the trip, the total distance was 134.1 miles while the displacement was 0 miles. The reason why was because I end up back where I started.
