  • Oh boy, we better run.
  • The Battle of Fallen Timbers was a major Native American defeat. The Americans were led to victory by General Wayne, and the Indians lost under Chief Little Turtle.
  • Washington's Farewell
  • We must stay together. For the good of the country, you must not make political parties!
  • American negotiators bargained with the stubborn Native Americans until they reluctantly agreed. The treaty was signed in 1795 by Native American leaders and General Anthony Wayne.

  • These farmers were pretty upset when the government passed the tax on whiskey. They sold whiskey for a lot of money, so the farmers thought that the government was out to get them. They tried to forcefully take away the tax, but George Washington stepped in and scared them away with a huge army.
  • Washington gives his final presidential speech, and warns the American people to avoid political parties, because it would tear the country apart.
  • The transfer of power from Washington to Adams was very peaceful and quiet. In fact, it was the first transfer of federal executive branch power from a president that was currently holding office (George Washington), to a president-elect (John Adams). Also, John Adams was the first president to live in the White House.
