I believe peace can be obtained through the change of attitudes!
We have a problem! But we can fix it!
The Lord says we should be nice to our enemies!
JFK uses pathos by putting in his own opinions on how the face of war can be changed. He continually states "I believe" because he wants people to understand that he truly wants this way of life to happen. He wants peoples attitudes to change toward war so that no one has to be afraid and the world can live in peace.
JFK in his "strategy of peace speech" talks about how we have a problem with obtaining peace, because of the nuclear war problem that is going on during that time. We caused this problem, so we need to fix it. He starts by stating the problem, and then coming up with a solution on how to fix it.
JFK uses quotes from the bible to help to deliver a message of peace. He uses verses because at this time a "Jesus Revolution" was beginning and he was trying to relate to the people. He also uses quotes from other professors to show his credibility. He tries to show people that other people are thinking this way too and in order to see a positive outlook we need to change.
