Storyboard Text

  • Please tell me you weren't up all night reading Wikipedia articles... again.
  • No! My mom and I are taking a nutrition class on the weekends at the community center, and I'm learning so much about food!
  • Did you guys know that apples aren't originally from America? They were brought overseas from Europe in the early 1800s.
  • Major snooze fest
  • I've actually heard of that! And the choices we make about food are influenced by, like, a thousand things.
  • For example, did you know that certain cultures and religions have dietary restrictions? Like how some Christians fast on Lent and Indians don't eat beef.
  • Like, if we all go out to eat and you guys get pizza, I'll probably get pizza too, even if I want something else.
  • Right! And you know, the pizza will satisfy your hunger, but it may not satisfy your appetite, which is in your head, not your stomach.
  • How in the world can they be so interested in this?
  • You guys have been talking about this ALL DAY. Is it really that interesting?
  •     I doubt that.
  • Yes, it is! I actually think I might want to be a nutritionist now!
  • It may seem boring to you now, Adam, but the next time you eat something, you'll think about all of this.
  • Hey, Adam! How was school?
  • Later that day...
  • Okay. Not too much, though; I'm making dinner.
  • Good. I'm gonna grab a snack.
  • Hunger and appetite are different.
  • Early people ate food raw.
  • Prolonged hunger can make you dizzy and have a headache.
  • People associate food with happiness.
  • Brand mascots encourage people to buy certain food products.
  • Food meets numerous physical needs.
  • fin.
  • Oh, no!
