Today we will learn about protists
Protist are microscopicsingle celled organisms.
Protists are eukaryotes, which are organisms with a nucleus.
"Most Protist have mitochondria, which are membrane-bound cell organelles. Mitochondria generates most of the chemical energy needed to power the cell."
Many protists can also cause diseases like malaria. Some are dangerous to humans, but some are not. A protist that is dangerous to humans are the parasite plasmodium, which causes malaria.
Some protists are also beneficial. The protist category protozoa, contains both beneficial and harmful protists.
