  • Im sorry, I'm just doing my job
  • The Townshend Act
  • I want tea no TAX
  • I just wont buy any more tea, paint, glass, and paper anymore
  • NO!  if you don't buy the products then me as a merchant will not get paid!!!
  • The Boston Massacre
  • OH NO! I SHOT A COLONIST ON ACCIDENT!
  • The Boston Tea party (1773)
  • If we throw 342 chests of tea into the sea maybe the king will take away the taxes on tea!
  •  NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION
  • When the British enforced this law it also affected their own british citizens, the merchants. So not only making the colonists mad but also their own people.
  • The Quartering Act
  • we don't have enough room for you
  • but I just want playing cards
  • British soldiers and colonists were standing on the streat fighting, when a gun accidentally went off killing 5 colonists . This frustrated and caused hate for the british.
  • the Stamp act
  • NO!
  • I dont get why we have to pay taxes everytime we want printed paper
  • The king closed Boston Harbor leading many people to starvation(since most trade was by sea), so the other colonies sent supplies.
  • The Continental Congress
  • yes! But, I am very loyal to the king so we shouldn't break his laws.
  • If you sign the olive branch petition you will help us write the letter
  • This law made soldiers stay in colonists house to "protect" them but all it did was take their hard earned food and beds from the family. Leading colonists to wanting more independence from the british.
  • Or food, and we don't need a soldier. The war is over
  • Due to the Stamp Act many colonists stopped buying these items, only frustrating the merchants. The act was repealed and lead to continental congress.
  • You have to buy a stamp! you are buying the paper!
  • As one last try they sent a letter to the king asking for peace.  The King denied the letter even saying that the letter was a act of treason and all of the people that wrote it should be hanged. After this, the colonists wrote declaration of independence.
