  • "Today will all be about physiology of the body. Now class, please take out your note books. I will lecture to you the entire 2.5 hours of class & if I see anyone dozing off- referrals for everyone
  • "It seems like none of you are paying attention! Maybe this is too monotonous for these intelligent students! Hmm.. I know what I will do. I will use art to better engage the students who are more visually and artistically inclined! Maybe I will even have them work in groups"
  • Okay class, I will handout a follow along paper. Together we will draw, color, and label the brain. You may work together in groups but must turn in one paper explaining what each part of the brain does and what the purpose of if it. At the end of the day (exit ticket) I will collect and assess these papers and determine if we are able to move forward as a class.
  • Richard: "Hey Brenda, What did you think of Ms. Ogan's implementation of Mastery of Learning?" Brenda: "Well Richard, anything is better than the day before where she only lectured at us. At least not we can progress forward as a whole class. She has high standards in order to do this"
  • "Good morning class. In order to learn about the brain today, I have decided to take you all into a surgical room where brain surgery is performed. Today a team surgeon and nurses will do a mock surgery on a cadaver. "
  • As they perform this mock surgery, nurses and Doctors will use terms we have learned in class to explain the parts of the brain and what they are doing. Once the mock surgery is complete, nurses and the Doctor will take any questions we have and will allow us all to partake in the surgery"
