On October 5 and 6 of 1789, women began the march protesting the high price of food, specifically bread. The demanded lower prices of food and accountability to be taken by royalty.Why had the price of food become so high?
As their march went on, more and more people joined, created a large gathering of angry townspeople. They gathered weapons and headed Versailles, where the king and queen were situated. What did the townspeople want to be changed?
The crowd migrated to Versailles and spoke to the King who agreed to give some food stores to the people. Some people were still not satisfying and killed many guards and escorted the King back to Paris to take responsibility.How do you think society would respond if this were to happen today?
