  • I think I am falling ill, as a last wish, please recite my poem of death.
  • Oh no! She was taken too soon. What will I do now that she is gone? How will I live without her?
  • The narrator introduces his lost love, Ligeia. He describes her beauty, intelligence and character.
  • I know we just got married, but I don't think I like you.
  • I'm too high on opium to care if you like me. 
  • The narrator describes the circumstances of Ligeia's illness, and shares her poem of human mortality.
