In 1996 there was a woman named Sherry that lived in a little town called Washington. She had a teenage daughter named lana. Lana was a girl who struggled with being a teenage mom and and a regular teenager at the same time. Her mom ended up basically beginning to raise her child.
Years have gone by it is 2003 and Sherry finds herself raising 4 children, and a newborn. Sherry is a school bus driver, and teachers assistant so she doesn't bring in much money to began with. Lana who is now struggling with drug addiction has to move out of state in 24 hours and can not take her children. Sherry is stuck making the decision to raise her grandchildren all by herself with little money, or send them into the foster care system. She chooses to keep and raise them so they can be together and not get separated in the system.
It is now 2009 and Sherry has been raising her grandchildren, and she is like their mom. Her daughter Lana lives in Virginia and has 4 more children that she has birthed. Sherry is making ends meet with her being retired, and then finds out that she might have to raise her other 4 grandchildren so they won't go into the foster system. Sherry has to figure out a way to do what she set out to do which was keep all of her grandchildren in one home and not in the foster system while providing for all of them at the same time.
Sherry makes a way for her grandchildren to come live in Washington and not be in the foster care system. She has 2 of them go stay with an aunt, 1 go stay with another aunt, and she takes the baby. It is set up like this until she finds a way to make room in her house for all of her grandchildren.
6 years later, and she is raising them all, but one. They are all in school but two. Sherry is happy that she kept going and id not give up in the face of her challenge which was resources. She made a way out of no way, and didn't just give up on them. She is raising them to be good, loving, and smart young children.
Sherry is still raising her grandchildren, and one of her grandchildren has a baby. She has learned that integrity is something that every leader should have. Her grandchildren look at her as their hero and mom. She teaches them to still love their mom Lana, and to treat her with respect. She still makes a way out of no way every month and provides for them. She overcame the challenge of resources and kept them out of the foster care system. She is a very strong, and giving lady that deserves so much.
