  • Elizabeth Cady Stanton went to a 1840 Anti-slavery convention the women were told to sit in the balcony behind a curtain she met Lucretia Mott.
  • This isn't right something has to be done
  • Women can’t vote, can’t own their own money or property
  • A couple years later Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott met and talked about women's issues.
  • They can't go to medical school or become doctors either
  • Planned to have the Seneca Falls convention in July 19, 1848. 
  • Held the Seneca Falls Convention it lasted two days. People said speeches and wrote the Declaration of Sentiments about the injustices suffered by women. 
  • Right to Vote!
  • Later they had more liberal divorce laws, women could now control money and property, and women got the right to vote. 
  • Womens rights!
  • Women have equal rights and can vote and are paid the same as men in most professions. The movement showed that women can change things and that they are equal and just as much as human as men are.
