Storyboard Text

  • Quartering Act
  • You disgust me! You are poor and selfish!
  • I guess you could sleep on this bench, I don't have much room for dirty soldiers like you!
  • Boston Massacure
  • Run! The British are attacking!
  • Boston Tea Party
  • The British will think again before taxing us!
  • During the quartering act, the colonists who could barely afford themselves were suddenly expected to house and feed British soldiers. This was extremely significant because the tension between the two sides rose leading to the Boston Massacre.
  • Second Continental Congress
  • I wonder what the king will say!!
  • The Boston Massacure was a break through moment, extremely important because it was the first time the two had been violent with each other. The event basically declared war. This was also uber important to the colonists because multiple of their team mates had been shot leaving them to get revenge with the Boston tea party.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill
  • Why do we keep getting sent back up the hill?!
  • The boston tea party was a very well known act that definitely helped lead up to the war. It sent an important message to the British, letting them know that the colonists were not happy about the taxes. The British got back at the colonists by closing the harbor, this was significant to the colonists because it meant no more trade.
  • Common Sense
  • The British gave unfair taxes!
  • I didn't realize how bad monarchy government was!
  • The second continental congress occurred in July 1775, where they drafted the olive branch petition. This was so important because it was one of the last straws before the colonists announced independence and broke out into war.
  • The battle of bunker hill showed importance in many ways, one of them being it was the first real battle between the colonists and British. It was also important because even though the British won they lost many more soldiers than the colonists.
  • We are running out of ammunition!
  • The book "Common Sense" written by Thomas Paine was published in 1776. This book proved that monarchy was a poor form of government. It turned people to the colonists side in a biased and misleading way. It was important because it changed other's perspectives of the British for who knows how long!
  • I feel so bad for the colonists, the British seemed like terrible people!
