The Frank family and the Van Daan family moved into the upstairs room of a business. Mr. Frank explains that they must stay in hiding until the nazis have fled. The families were Jewish and needed to stay in hiding.
ACT 2: SCENE 1
I can't wait to give them these things!
Me too, these flowers should help them through this.
While the families are hiding, Mr. Kraler and Meip are their suppliers. They must bring the families food and information regarding their current situation. Meip and Mr. Kraler have been giving the families beans until they can find a better food source to smuggle in.
ACT 2: SCENE 3
What about the children?!

The Van Daans and the Franks are celebrating Hanukkah with a candle lit room and all of the families saying their prayers. The Franks always give out gifts on Hanukkah, but since they are hiding, they couldn't. But Anne was determined to keep the tradition going, and gave everyone a present.
ACT 2: SCENE 4
It is New Years and Meip and Mr. Kraler has returned to check in on the families and to wish them Happy New Years. They have brought a few gifts for some people int the family. Mr. Kraler will bring flowers, and Meip has brought a cake for everyone.
In the middle of the night, Mr. Van Daan sneaks into the food safe to take half of a loaf of bread. When he goes to close the safe door, it creeks and it wakes the whole room. Mr. Frank and Dussel are accusing him of stealing, and everyone soon gets into a big fight.
While everyone is inside the building, they here a car come to a sudden stop in front of them. Men start to rush out of the car and break into the building and they find the families in the attic. The men say that they can only take what fits in one bag for each person.
