Something that Darry did that affected Ponyboy was slapping Ponyboy in the face. That affected Ponyboy because by the slap, followed by other things that were happening made Ponyboy run away. However, it affected him in a positive way because it brought them together in the end. For example, when they first saw each other they were both worried and told each other how they were sorry.
When Bob dies that affects Ponyboy because now he could be at blame. However, he learns to face challenges because of the killing of bob. Mainly, it affected ponyboy because he had to run away from his family, friends, and life because of this conflict.
Something that Johnny did that affected ponyboy was saving ponyboy from the fire. That affected Ponyboy because now he has to live with the guilt that he should not have been saved, that Johnny should have been saved. However, it affected Ponyboy in a positive way too because he saved kids and that can partially make his guilt go away.
