Storyboard Text

  • Alexa is a (third-year) medical student. Today, she will be shadowing a doctor at the hospital. She will be attending an open-heart surgery.
  • She puts on her working shoes to wear in the operating room, where she will be standing for 6 hours. The shoes have a built-in PHI system, analyzing the pressure on her feet.
  • After standing for a couple of hours, her feet start to ache. During the surgery, she is not able to take a break.
  • Alexa receives a notification, from the PHI-system, in the form of a gentle vibration, that informs her of excessive pressure.
  • In response she changes her position regularly for more comfort. The system adjusts to her preferences.
  • At the end of Alexa’s working day, the PHI-system helps Alexa by sharing an overall analysis of the pressures on her feet. It also gives more information about pedal health.
