My greatest accomplishment was learning Latin in Tuebingen, Germany.
First, I had to spend many hours in the Library with a Latin text by Julius Caesar (De Bello Gallico), a dictionary, and a grammar book.
Finally, I went in front of a panel of three professors and translated from Latin to German. My prof was one of the examiners and he kept saying, "She's American, she's American!" That's because my German wasn't at all perfect. But in spite of everything, I passed the exam--with the lowest grade possible.
