Reverend Parris claims he saw Abigail, Abby, and Tituba dancing in the woods. Plot: This is what starts the entire Salem Witchtrials. Conflict: They arn't allowed to dance because they are Puritains. This contributed to the theme by providing dishonesty between all the girls.
Elizabeth is being short and cold. with John. She is hurt about the affair John had with Abigail. Plot: This shows what had happened previously before the play Conflict: Creates a ongoing hatred between Abigail and Elizabeth. This also creates space in between John and Elizabeth. Theme: John had hid his affair for a bit, which led to dishonesty.
The marshall arrived to arrest Elizabeth due to the needle found in the poppet. Plot: Shows how everyone was getting questioned for witchcraft. Conflict: Abigail has accused Elizabeth of stabbing her with her spirt. John is furious. Theme: Abigail had lied to everyone showing how dishonest she is.
Mary claims that John is in contact with the devil. Plot: She done this to get the heat off of her. Conflict: Mary came to help John but in the end turned on him for herself. This ruined their chance to prove everything is a lie. Theme: Marry had been dishonest to everyone turning on John.
John signs a admittance to gain his freedom but after the court wants to hang it up, he decides to rip it up. Plot: This was his only chance to free himself for his kids and wife. Conflict: Instead of selling out for his freedom, he rather have his name. This leads up to his death. Theme: The court knows its a lie but wants to be dishonest to all the citizens.
John is put to death. Plot: Right before his death, he began to say prayers. Showing that he was never a witch nor the devil. Conflict: Proof that the Salem witch trials was a fraud and innocent people died. Theme: With john now dead, everyone he tried to help had turned on him, that was dishonest.
