Okay class, today we are going to learn about sound and light, lets begin! Sound is a form of energy that travels as waves and is caused by vibrations. Light travels in waves and does not need a medium!
LIGHT AND SOUND
Luminous gives off its own light, illuminated reflects light, opaque is something that blocks light, transparent lets light through easily, and translucent lets some light in.
Now that we know the basics, lets get into some other facts and things to know
Light can be broken up into 5 different parts. Translucent, transparent, luminous, illuminated, and opaque
Speakers make sound so we can listen to music.
Sound has compressions and rarefaction's which move in the same direction as the sound wave. Sound waves can travel in solids, liquids, and gasses but not in a vacuum like the moon. Does anyone want to give an example of sound?
Drums and instruments make sound because they vibrate.
Same with vocal cords. When we talk they start to vibrate and produce sound.
I'm happy you guys are now experts on sound and light. Let's take a look in the band room and maybe it will help us with our lesson.
The band room has all different type of instruments that can make sound! Maybe we will find something with light too
When we play our instruments we produce sound. On the other hand, I was in my room and I closed my shades. It was sunny at the time then when I closed my shades it would be opaque light because the shades were blocking the light.
That's are lesson for today! I hope you are prepared for everything on sound and light and i hope you enjoyed and understood the lesson!
