Storyboard Text

  • Montag the Fireman
  • We burned down another house today, it was so fun.
  • Clarisse
  • Are you happy with your life?
  • Happy? of course I'm happy!
  • Hesitation
  • You need to go to work, how are we supposed to pay for our new wall tv's if you dont
  • There was a woman inside that last house we burned, I want to take a break from work.
  • Montag is a fireman who starts fires in houses with books, and enjoys it. He does not know what books contain and how to express opinion or feeling.
  • Faber
  • Clarisse, a girl in the street approaches Montag and has a conversation about society and thought in general. This makes Montag question his own state of being and how the entirety of society works.
  • Rebellion
  • We never burned right......
  • After the scene with the old woman in the burning house, Montag is skeptical about the job he has. He does not want to associate with his coworkers because of his feeling of guilt. Later, Beatty will come to his house to explain to him the meaning of the actions of the society, This will cause Montag to be even more hesitant about his job.
  • Fulfillment
  • Lets rebuild society from the ground up, and make it a society with books.
  • Confused about the events relating to books, Montag seeks the advice of an old English professor named Faber who teaches him the true importance of detail and information. After he realizes this, Montag hatches a plan to rebel against society.
  • It's not books themselves that are important, it's what's written in them that is.
  • When Beatty brings Montag to burn down his own house, Montag turns the flamethrower on them, killing both the Mechanical Hound and Beatty. This is a significant change in Montag from the earlier, more indecisive personality he had.
  • Why did you think you could hide books from us?
  • After the authorities chased him away from the city, Montag found a community in the wilderness that knew about and appreciated information and books, later that night, the city was bombed and Montag decides to rebuild society but with books and learning. Montag is determined to protect the importance of books in this new society.
  • Finally, a fresh start
